A little about me (the woman writing all of this to you)
Guess it’s time to talk a bit about myself. I am a young (25 year old) Swedish wife and homemaker. I actually “fell” into homemaking accidentally. The plan was to graduate from university with a degree in digital marketing and find a job like everyone else. Only the problem was, no one would hire me… So while I kept applying I started getting into homemaking and actually love it. We manage to live on one income but we need to be very frugal.
So, after two years of applying to jobs I said to myself it is time to try something else. That something else is blogging. Blogging is my way of still using all the skills I learned but on my own terms. I am creating my own job and feel like I have a purpose. Blogging also makes it possible for me to work from home and still be a homemaker. A win-win in my book!
I use my blog to write about all things homemaking and my number one interest is baking. I absolutely love it and find so much joy in creating something with my bare hands. I am also into knitting, embroidering and sewing (although I would still call myself a beginner) and would like to try some crochet one day soon. Sometimes I also enjoy focusing on drawing, reading and doing small cute crafts. Basically I like all things you would imagine a typical housewife would.
What to expect here on Nordic Homemaking
This is the place where I hope to encourage other women who are curious about homemaking or already are homemakers and are in desperate need of some good old inspiration. I realized I had a real passion for homemaking. I care about homemade food, I care about being frugal so we can live on one income, I care about spending time with my family and finding joy in the small things.
So, here on Nordic Homemaking I want to share with you all the things I have learned by being a homemaker.
My goals with this blog is to share how to...
- ...create memories with your family and loved ones.
- ...fuel you and your families bodies with healthy home made food.
- ...create a welcoming and loving home.
- ...save money by being frugal and investing in your own home.
- ...be productive with housework and find balance with chores.
- ...appreciate the small things and romanticize your life.
- ...fall in love with all the seasons throughout the year.
So, why the name Nordic Homemaking?
Well, I live in Scandinavia or like you could call it: In the Nordic countries. And I wanted this blog to be a place where I can share everything I have learned (and still am learning) about homemaking. So I felt it was fitting to name the website Nordic Homemaking. Simple as that.
